Off-grid power, made operable.
Less diesel burned. Batteries that last their full life. Faults you hear about before the power goes out — and a whole site you can see and control from your phone. ARPS designs, installs and manages intelligent solar, battery and generator systems across regional Queensland, and stays accountable for them.
Most off-grid systems run blind.
We assess off-grid sites across regional Queensland. The hardware is usually professional-grade. The way it's left to run is not.
Generators started by guesswork
Started too early on a sunny morning, fuel is wasted. Started too late after a heavy weekend, the battery gets hammered. No SOC trigger, no fuel gauge, no run log.
State of charge read from voltage
Voltage-based SOC on lithium is unreliable — flat under load, false-high after a charge pulse. Charge cycles get cut short and battery life quietly shortens.
Free energy thrown away
Oversized arrays clipping at the inverter. Hot water running from battery at 9pm instead of from solar at 11am. Every day, unnoticed.
Faults found after the failure
No dashboard, no alerts, settings locked by an installer who's moved on. The first sign of a problem is the power going out.
The hardware isn't the problem. The problem is that no one can see what it's doing.
One system. Full control.
IPS is how ARPS delivers power: solar, batteries, generator, loads and monitoring integrated into a single system you can see and control from anywhere. The technology is the tool — the result is fewer failures, lower fuel bills, longer battery life and a system you can finally trust.
See your whole system
Solar, battery, loads and generator on one screen, on any device, from anywhere. No more driving out to check. No more guessing what the system is doing.
Protect your batteries
State of charge read directly from the BMS — not estimated from voltage — so charge cycles complete properly and your bank lasts the life you paid for.
Burn less diesel
The generator starts and stops on battery state, not human memory. Live fuel level, low-fuel alerts and run-hour logs cut wasted starts and missed services.
Plan around the weather
The system forecasts your solar for the week ahead and schedules heavy loads for when the energy is there — so a cloudy Thursday doesn't drain your bank.
Run loads on free energy
Hot water and other high-draw loads switch automatically to solar surplus, instead of pulling from the battery at night. Manual override from your phone.
Know before it fails
Inverter faults, low battery, generator issues and low fuel push straight to your phone — so problems get fixed before they become outages.
Visibility first. Then control.
You can't fix what you can't see — so every engagement starts by documenting what your system is actually doing, before anyone sells you new hardware.
Assess
A full site assessment: every issue documented by severity, what it's costing you, and what it takes to fix.
Remediate
Recover control of your own equipment — inverter access, BMS communication, wiring verified — in priority order.
Automate
Generator auto-start, fuel sensing, smart load switching and forecast-driven scheduling, commissioned and tested.
Manage
Ongoing monitoring, alerts, remote support and scheduled site servicing — electrical and mechanical, one company.
Trades first. Technology second.
Trusting someone with your power system means trusting them with your water, your refrigeration, your stock and your livelihood. Here's what stands behind ours.
Operating since 2008
Eighteen years delivering power projects across regional Queensland — built on referrals and repeat work, not advertising.
Generator specialists
Sales, installation and mechanical servicing in-house. We know diesel generation from the engine out, not from a spec sheet.
Licensed electrical contractors
Every system designed and installed by licensed trades — the same people who answer the phone when something needs attention.
Remote infrastructure experience
Telecommunications sites, essential services and remote facilities — environments where power failure was never an option.
Full system integration
Solar, batteries, generator, loads and monitoring commissioned as one system by one company. No finger-pointing between suppliers.
Regional Queensland support
Local and contactable. Monitoring from anywhere, and service visits — electrical and mechanical — when the site needs hands on it.
Most installers hand over the keys and disappear. We're still watching your system long after the invoice is paid.
Buxton Bush Camp, QLD
Our first full IPS deployment: a real off-grid site in regional Queensland that arrived with professional-grade hardware and no way to run it. The site assessment found ten distinct issues — three of them critical.
| Area | As found | Under IPS |
|---|---|---|
| Visibility | No dashboard, no alerts — problems discovered after failure | Live mobile dashboard for solar, battery, loads and generator |
| Battery SOC | Estimated from voltage — unreliable on lithium | True SOC from the BMS, shown as % and kWh remaining |
| Generator | Started manually, by intuition — no fuel gauge, no run log | Auto start/stop on SOC thresholds, fuel sensing, run-hour logging |
| Loads | Hot water drawing from battery at night, every night | Automated to solar surplus windows, manual override anywhere |
| Control | Inverter locked by a previous installer | Owner holds full access to their own system |
The IPS platform is operational at Buxton and full site commissioning is underway. The objective is simple: fewer generator hours, full use of the solar already on the roof, and a battery bank that lasts. Buxton is our working proof — and our reference site for what an off-grid system looks like when somebody is accountable for it.
Built for sites where power failure isn't an option.
Rural & Agricultural
Farms, acreage properties, irrigation, sheds and workshops — power that runs the operation without running you.
Tourism & Eco-Stays
Off-grid accommodation where a power failure means refunds. Watch and control every site from your phone.
Commercial & Industrial
Regional businesses, warehouses and service facilities that need backup power proven, not promised.
Critical Infrastructure
Telecommunications and remote essential services, with monitoring and response built into the contract.
The trades behind the technology.
ARPS — Australian Remote Project Services — has been delivering power to regional Queensland since 2008. Generator sales, installation and servicing. Electrical contracting. Backup power and remote infrastructure, built almost entirely on referrals and repeat work.
Intelligent Power Systems is where that experience was always heading. Thirty years of field work in hybrid solar and generator systems went into a platform that makes the equipment we install visible, automated and accountable — because we were tired of seeing good hardware abandoned by the people who fitted it.
We're not a software company, and we're not another solar installer. Installers finish the job when the system switches on. Our job starts there — monitoring, supporting and optimising your system for as long as you run it. We're the company that takes responsibility for whether your site has power, and the dashboard is how we both prove it.
- Previously built and ran a 30-staff electrical & engineering operation
- 30 years of hybrid power experience across solar, battery and generator systems
- One accountable provider — design, installation, automation, monitoring and servicing
Start with a site assessment.
Whether you're planning a new off-grid system or living with one that's running blind, the first step is the same: we document what your system is doing, what it's costing you, and exactly what it would take to fix — before you spend a dollar on new hardware.
